I really wish you were my neighbor so you could take pictures of me and my baby...

what kind of camera do you use? how did you learn to take pictures?

Kristen--I shoot with a Canon D20. I love it. Although, I just dropped it during Kathy's photo shoot and will probably need to make some minor repairs. Uggg...

I'm self taught. I'm not technical but I've always loved art and photography (my degree was in the Humanities) so I just started shooting with a 35 mm and a zoom lens (big fan of the zoom lens. You lose quality but you can experiment so much easier). I then learned how to develop B&Ws in a dark room, went to digital last year, started my business, learned the basics of photoshop and began acting like I knew what I was doing. I'm a big fan of trial and error. I know some basic art and photography techniques but mostly I just follow my heart and learn what I need as I go.

    Not very romantic...

And the house down the street is for sale...if you're interested.

Thanks---I was curious to know your story. Maybe I will get myself one of those fancy cameras and start practicing...is it a digital one you've got? I am utterly ignorant when it comes to cameras.

I guess these days, if I want to self-teach myself photography, a digital one would be better than a regular one because I wouldn't waste all the film. I have an inexpensive digital camera, and the problem I keep having is that it doesn't take the picture fast enough. I press the button, and there's this delaaaaaaay before the picture is taken.

Is is true that if I had a better camera that problem wouldn't exist? Also, do digital cameras take action shots? Mine also gives me blurry pictures if anyone is moving. And I have tried, and failed to get my infant daughter to sit still for the picture, but it doesn't work!!

Rachel--a good beginner 35 mm digital is the Canon Rebel. There is no delay with this camera. Tell hubby...a great Christmas gift!
