| Oh Wheat |
| My two year-old just finished a hard day's work in the kitchen, dumping out a box of cereal, throwing around sugar that he scavanged out of the food closet, cutting up some bananas with a knife (where did that come from?), and "helping" me sweep everything up. And then he brought (ok, threw) to me a package of unopened spaghetti. He said, "Stone bite." Yes, those noodles are for Stone. And then he said, as if he understood how to solve world hunger, "Oh, Wheat." Yes, I replied, Wheat. Labels: Celiac Awareness |

He always said, "You are my favorite" (to all four of us actually, and by some miraculous math of fatherhood, it was true, every time). But the most life-altering statement that my dad said to me almost daily as I was growing up was, "You can do anything you set your mind to." "Thanks dad" I would say with rolling eyes and slouching shoulders. And now with a little more humility and a some life lived, I've realized he was right. Every time.Labels: Photo Friday |
